"When I started my counselling nearly a couple of years ago I was in a bad place , I was depressed and was feeling very bad about myself, I have never been a confident person but my self esteem was on the floor, sometimes I really didn't want to go on ,I had started drinking heavier to block it out, but I've noticed recently that I'm feeling happy for first time ever. Over last few months I haven't had the bad days of depression but have felt good and positive. I can't believe how good I feel in myself I never would have believed talking to someone could have changed my whole way of looking at myself and life. Thanks Louisa for helping me understand myself and what goes on in my head, I have to admit counselling was the best thing for me and I hope I will continue to feel this way"

I want to take the time and opportunity to recommend Louisa and her practice. Many of us will become uneasy or even hesitant about encounter with a counsellor. I recognize that all particularly strongly. Perhaps you have had an encounter that’s not been what you thought it was going to be with other professional in this field. Please don’t let this stop you from contacting Louisa. Meeting with Louisa is like chattering with an old companion. Louisa will set you at ease, always welcoming and friendly. She respects and never forces the conversation. Her sincerity, empathy and expertise are exceptional. She’s been a blessing for me. Confidential, trustworthy and sincere. There is never a magic wand explanation to burdens. Go along with his kind, unique lady, and she will realize a life transforming experience. I just need to set on testimony and thank you for all your help and encouragement.

Louisa was friendly and approachable and assured me her service was always available if I needed to talk. This was a real source of comfort. Many thanks.
"This service was there for me when I needed it. Talking and listening to Louisa done me the world of good, She described things in a way I could understand and I left each session feeling good again about myself and gradually coming out of the darkest place I’ve ever been in my life, I can’t thank her enough. I have a friend going through something similar at the minute and I am encouraging her to give Louisa a wee call as I know it will help. Thank you for everything."

"Louisa was very easy to talk to. I felt she had a great personality. It was a good feeling to express something I had held for so long.
It is good to know if I feel I need help again she said just give her a call."

"Something new to experience and learn within every support group and always someone at hand if help is required. Always feel safe and valued after her group feedback check in."
As Skills Coach for A.M.H. I have referred our service users to Louisa in the recent years. The feedback from these clients regarding Louisa’s counselling work has always been very positive. One client in particular, who has previously used several other counsellors, commented that Louisa was the first counsellor she truly connected with and made progress under.
Through my communication I found her to be a passionate, caring and ultra professional practitioner, who, in the past has made herself available 24/7 for clients in crisis. Based on various client feedback, and my own working relationship with Louisa, I would have no hesitation in recommending her services. In fact, I couldn’t praise her highly enough. - Marc McCann (Skills Coach with Action Mental Health)
I’m just relieved to have you on board again, we want our Service Users to get the best support possible.

"The counselling service Louisa provides to the clients I refer is imperative to their recovery and wellbeing. I have made several referrals to Louisa and find her to be the most efficient and effective service that I have engaged with, she has a genuine care for client’s and I believe this is what makes the counselling most effective for my clients. Any feedback from clients has been very positive and in some cases a life saver. I will continue to refer to Louisa as the service she provides is second to none and I would highly recommend and promote to others."

"I work for the low threshold drug and alcohol team for the Southern Trust. In this line of work we support people who experience addiction and mental health issues as a result of substance use. Given the high instance of self-harm and completed suicide it is essential there is an immediate service for those in need.
My colleagues and I have been availing of Louisa McMenemy for counselling for some time through her previous place of employment. The understanding and ease of access to the support from her is of immense benefit to us as workers, and service users in need.
There have been instances whereby service users have been referred to our service, at referral stage if we identify low mood or thoughts of life not worth living we will contact Louisa who is always willing to spare time to contact those in need to support. In many cases when we contact the service user back to commence work with them, they no longer need our services as they have worked with Louisa and feel they can manage on their own. Many service users report she has a personal and empathetic approach which they connect to. They build a rapport quickly, feel listened to, comfortable and safe, therefore able to speak freely. Confidence and self-esteem are promoted through the sessions and the service user feedback is always positive. They realise they really do love life. "

"I currently work for Community Restorative Justice Ireland as a restorative practitioner and mentor for a relatively new project in the Lurgan and Drumgask area.
Louisa has provided invaluable support and potentially life saving services throughout the area.
She is always available for advice and guidance when it comes to support for the clients and communities I work with. The referrals are always contacted and appointments are made straight away.
Without this service clients are left on long waiting lists or with a limited number of sessions. Louisa is passionate and caring and this is evident from the feedback we have received. She is always professional and goes above and beyond for those she works with.
I would highly recommend this vital service Louisa provides.

"Nexus provides counselling to individuals who have been affected by sexual violence and trauma. Nexus provides 18 counselling sessions, and then 1 year of post-counselling support, receiving support from a Co-NEX-ion facilitator. I found that when I worked with the clients in the Co-NEX-ion project they still needed more counselling. This is when I was introduced to Louisa and her service in the Lurgan area. I was able to provide personal development through group work and provide information to my clients regarding the counselling Louisa provided. Louisa also came into our Co-NEX-ion group and delivered mental health awareness session which the clients all found beneficial. Funded counselling is a much-needed service in the Southern area. Clients need to know there is a free counselling service there for them to avail off."

"Louisa, as you fully know there continues to be a constant demand for mental health support in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council areas. The current pandemic clearly has not helped and I believe the impact on our local communities wellbeing is yet to be fully realised.
Daily we receive calls for service from our communities regarding mental health, many of which pose real and significant risk of injury or loss of life. As a consequence we really appreciate the support of our partners both from the public and private sector as we attempt to support and safeguard the vulnerable members of our community.
I was disappointed on learning that the services you previously offered through PIPS are no longer available. I can testify that the families and victims that I had the opportunity to signpost and others that spoke to you while in crisis really appreciated your support and firmly believe you had a positive impact on their lives. In real terms how can we measure the value and the devastation avoided when, even just one life is saved!
One of the key benefits that I previously found was the flexible and availability that you offered. Frequently I was able to contact you outside of normal office hours and you were able to have that genuine personal conversation, ‘there and then’ with the family or victim which I believe gave reassurance and much needed hope at that crisis point and the days and weeks to follow.
I am delighted to hear of this new venture ‘Love Life Counselling’ and look forward to seeking your professional help as we all partner together to protect and save lives.

"Thank you for working with the school this year. With the funding provided by SLNRA we were able to have access to you and your counselling skills.
The speed with which you were able to offer appointments and the flexibility you demonstrated in being able to facilitate at a place other than the school, respected the privacy, sensitivity of situations and was of benefit to those involved. In the current climate there are plenty of pressures facing members of a school community, often waiting lists and paperwork are part of the referral process to outside agencies so it was great you were available to work with us. Support and kindness could be provided at a time when it was needed.
I wish you every success with your new business."

"I first met with Louisa for counselling in June of this year (2022).
I have a pretty lengthy Mental Health story. Dating back to 2011. I am now 31 so this has been the majority of my adult life.
I have been in and out of Mental Health services through NHS over the past 10 years, which helped a bit at the beginning but with the pressures of life getting more and more as time went by, it just wasn’t enough!!
I honestly never thought anyone (or anything) could have pulled me out of the depressive state that I had become accustomed to!.. Louisa took me right back to the beginning, without me even realising it!! She assured me that anythings possible and that my therapy would be taken at my own pace!!
I genuinely do not know where I would be right now without having met Louisa in June!! Her compassion, experience, dedication and devotion to what she does makes her amazing, the amazing counsellor that she is!!
Thank you for changing my life Louisa! X"

"Dear Louisa,
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to you for the time you have spent in your role as counsellor at St. John’s P.S.
We have found your service to be both worthwhile and rewarding and have noticed a marked improvement in the mental health and wellbeing of some of the pupils that you dealt with. I could not recommend you highly enough; you have always gone over and above in making time for those that needed you and provided them with a safe and secure space in which they can open up.
You have always been very reliable and provided an excellent service. You have raised the self-esteem of the young people that you worked with and encouraged them to always see the positive and to focus on it.
As well as working so well with our pupils, you have encouraged their parents to reach out to you also, regardless of the time or the day. This has proven invaluable I’m sure to some.
I would like to thank you for the support you have given to us."

"As Bridge IPS SENCo, I contacted Louisa through the EA Healthy Happy Minds Project. We wanted to support those pupils who were affected by the recent pandemic and/or other difficulties they were experiencing in their lives. Louisa has been an extremely valuable addition to the provisions of support that we can provide for our pupils. Both parents and pupils have responded extremely positively to Louisa’s therapy support. The pupils receiving therapy have all voiced their enjoyment of the confidential sessions and on a school level we can see that they are more relaxed, confident and resilient in their approach to the social demands of school life."

"Louisa works as an associate counsellor for our Mental Health Service at Disability Action. It's been a pleasure to have her as a colleague and I have confidence when passing a referral over to Louisa. I know that she is providing a professional, safe, confidential space for our service users to explore their emotions. She has been part of many of our service users' journey in personal development, self-awareness, and inner peace.
We as an organisation are thankful to have her skills and knowledge to contribute to our service and thank Louisa for the work, she does. It truly makes a difference to individual's lives."
